🔪 How to Make This Garlic Herb Roasted Chicken

Making this roasted chicken is so simple. While it does take a little bit of time the oven does most of the work. Follow the steps below or in the recipe card at the bottom of this post and you will have a delicious protein to serve your family in no time at all.

Step 1: Preheat the oven and prepare the chicken

Heat the oven to 425 degrees. Meanwhile, remove the packet of innards from the inside cavity of the chicken, and pat it dry. 

Step 2: Coat the chicken in butter and oil

Drizzle the butter and olive oil over the chicken.  And, then squeeze the juice from half a lemon over the chicken.

Step 3: Season the chicken

Season the chicken with the sage, poultry seasoning, and salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4: Tie the legs together and stuff the chicken

Tie the legs of the chicken together with butcher’s twine.  And, then place the other half of the lemon, the head of garlic, and the fresh herbs into the cavity of the chicken. 

Step 5: Roast the chicken

Place the chicken breast side up into a casserole or roasting dish. Roast the chicken for 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Garnish with fresh parsley before serving if desired.
